  The  Indian  Car of the Year  Award (ICOTY)  is presented annually to the best new car launched in India, and is based on same awards like  European Car of the Year .  The award was established in 2006 , with the Maruti Suzuki Swift winning the first time . Hyundai has won the award 7 times , while  Maruti Suzuki 4 times and Honda have won 2 times . Swift is the only car model to win the award 3 times . Most of the award winning cars have been from Japanese or Korean manufacturers. The Hyundai Elite i20 and i10 Grand, for instance, are available in Europe and Japan.The Maruti brand on Suzuki models is exclusive to India. The  ICOTY  some   Rules  are followed.    The Brands has Won the most times. Premium Car Award Car Awards are also started from 2019.  As there they have seen a boom in the Premium Car market.    From this year (2021) Green Car Award was also Added as a new category....
